Wow, what a Christmas......

Colton, Alex, Jaymie,Morgan and Liam! What a great day! Opened gifts from Santa, then hung out at Jaymie and Colton's house with the entire family. The kids played all day long! Alex was feeling under the weather today; however, he tried to keep up to the rest of his cousins(what a trooper). The highlight of the day was when Uncle Len let Alex drive the excavator in their front yard: they dug a hole and picked up a huge tree trunk! Alex was on cloud nine........ Today we are just hanging around home and letting Alex get over his nasty cold! Merry Christmas to everyone, enjoy the holiday season.

One more day til Christmas.....

This is my first time on skates! I loved it! We all went skating at Juniper outdoor rink in Kamloops.

The last couple of days have been so busy! We had an early Christmas with Grandpa and Grandma Timewell. They came to visit us in Kamloops and we went to see the Christmas Lights at The Wildlife Park. Morgan and Liam are in Kamloops visiting for Christmas. We have all been hanging out playing, skating, playing, and eating(junk food).

Lots of SNOW.....

First Blizzard of the year. It is -20 and with the wind chill it is -30 or colder as the wind has been blowing steady at 50-60km/hr. We went outside and shovelled the driveway: Greg got frostbite on his nose(he is doing fine). Alex had "rosey" cheeks for a couple hours after being outside. Trinket couldn't stay outside longer than 5 minutes without having her paws freeze. A big change from last weeks' balmy dry weather where it was warmer than the lower mainland. I guess winter has arrived!

Kamloops Santa Claus Parade

Today we went to the Santa Claus parade. It was worth the cold(-15 with the wind chill) wait to see Santa: he even looked at me and waved! Vanessa and Mikayla came with us too! Can't wait till Christmas!

Halloween in Kamloops

Alex had an absolute blast on Halloween. He went to an all-day Halloween event at "Little Ducklings Daycare", then he went Trick or Treating with Vanessa, Mikalya and Mommmy. Dad stayed at home to hand-out the treats. What fun and too much candy!

Yet another delay posting.........

Yet another delay in posting updates and pictures.......
We had a blast in Moab. Greg was able to go on a great 4 hour mtn. bike ride, while Alex and I hung out at the Moab Valley Campground(we swam, played in the sand and went for a little hike with Trinket). Then next day we went to view the Arches, we had to hike 5km to see them.......Alex almost made it; however, Mom had to make the decision to pull him off the route early so he would make it back to the truck! He did about 7km of walking and running: he loved it! I think we got a little endurance athlete on our hands! The picture below is the rock mtn across from our Campsite: Greg is climbing it(Find Greg and win a free bike from his store).

We decided to leave Moab a day early: the weather wasn't great. We drove to Kellogg, Idaho for the night, then to Rock Creek, BC. We found the perfect camping site! Seriously, we didn't want to leave! Rock Creek Provincial Camground: we parked right next to Kettle Valley River, Alex had a huge sand box to play in(area where campers pitch their tents) and trinket ran around wild chasing thousands of chipmunks(today she can barely move after chasing them for 2 days).

delayed interbike update....

Unfortunately while we were in Las Vegas we had difficulties getting a good connection to the internet, so here goes on the 3 days of updating you with some pretty cool pictures....

Weds: we arrived in Las Vegas, Greg went to check out The Interbike Expo while Alex and I went to Circus Circus(the enormous indoor amusement park). Alex went on endless rides and had an absolute blast. Then we met Greg at Interbike. Okay, too many bikes, and many other crazy things.....seriously crazy things!

Alex was snoozing in the stroller(he was exhausted from the amusement park), so Greg and I walked around the show and saw all the newest bikes for 2007. There was a road bike made for a 7 year old...no joke(see picture).

Alex woke up, so we headed back to the amusement park for some more rides: Alex met a new friend(Andrew) on the "Plane Ride" and they were inseperable the entire trip. Andrew's Dad and Grampa were in Vegas for Interbike too.

Thurs: Went to interbike again and saw a few biking stars: George Hincapie, Thor Hushovd, Heather Fuhr, Bob Roll, Phil Liggett and Tinker. Alex met up with his buddy Andrew from Texas and they spent the afteroon until dinner on the rides at the amusement park.

Fri: Alex, Andrew and I went to the Children's Museum: was too much fun for the kids and me too! Greg spent part of the day at Interbike and then met us at the museum and we had a hard time dragging him out. Also, Alex loved hanging out at Andrew's MotorHome.....house on wheels! The best part(especially for Greg) was ending the day off at Las Vegas Mini Gran Prix Race Track. Greg and Alex went in a race car together and raced agaist the Texans Don and Andrew. Then Don and Greg went in the big boy cars for a time trial(I think Greg took the win by .35 secs).

So today we made it to Moab, Utah and we are ready to do some mountain biking(more so Greg).

Hope all is well in BC!

Busy Day.....

Hi from Boulder City! This morning we all went up to the Outdoor Demo Show: Alex wanted to try the kids tandem bike again, so I took him this time(he had the perma-grin go'in on again). Then Greg went to test drive some more bikes while Alex and I walked around the expo and scored another pair of free mtn. bike shoes(for someone special). Greg also found the perfect "team" bike for the "Three Stooges": will try to post a picture later! He promises it will go ANYWHERE(at least with him riding it)!

Alex and I ended up biking by the Boulder City Fire Dept.,the Fire Chief came out and let Alex check out their department, then they gave him a special fire hat!

In our RV Park at Boulder City, there is a family staying next to us(they are waiting for their house to be built in Henderson, NV). Well, one of the family members is Alex's new friend: Katlyn. They play until bedtime: Alex adores her! Move over Brooklyn(ha).

Kids' Tandem....very cool!

Okay, how cool is this tandem.....it is design for an adult and a child: designed by Brown Cycles' in Grand Junction, Colorado. Alex and Greg took it for a test drive. Alex could not stop grinning for the entire ride. Also, Greg and I scored some great schwag: we each got a pair of "free" mtn. biking shoes! Then Alex walked around and sampled all the electrolyte drinks(can you say wired child) and scored a lot of water bottles along the way. This show is so cool.......more pictures to come...

We are in Boulder City, Nevada

Well after a very long day of driving yesterday....we are in Boulder City for the Outdoor Demo Days(Interbike). Alex and Greg are getting the bikes ready to ride up to the expo site, then Alex and I will see how much swag we can get and Greg will test drive the newest and coolest bikes for 2007! I will take some pictures and post some later in the day.......hope all is well! By the way it is 95 degress! Trinket bonked on her run this am on the trails, the Jack Rabbit wore her out!
Cheers......

Oregon Coast

We left Vancouver Thursday and decided to take a little detour to the Oregon Coast for the night. Stopped south of Lincoln City and stayed the night in a parking right beside the beach(very dark, remote and freaky). In the morning we all walked down to the beach: Alex was having a blast making tire tracks in the sand with his dump truck and looking for Sea Lion's with his binoculars. Trinket, what can we say, she was absolutely mental running around on the endless beach. We then drove south to Florence to visit the enormous and foul smelly sea lions in a cave(which we had to take an elevator down 208ft). It was something else. We have stopped for the night in Ashland(almost in California) and will be power driving for the next 2 days to make it to Las Vegas on Sunday for the Interbike show.
Hope all is well with everyone back home.

Going South to Interbike & Moab

We thought we would put together a family blog site to update our family and friends while we are away on our vacation down south. We are driving down with the trailer to Las Vegas Interbike Show and then over to Moab for some great mountain biking. We are leaving Sept. 21 and returning around Thanksgiving. We will be updating the site with pictures and our where abouts; hopefully, everyone enjoys!

Summer update:
Alex turned 3 in June and had a blast camping in Oliver for his birthday. We have booked the campsite for next year too: "The Lakeside Resort" in Oliver for the Half Ironman and to celebrate Alex's 4th b-day! It is becoming an annual trip!

Also, we had a trip to Penticton in August. Alex got to finish Ironman Canada with Mom(above picture)! Alex was so excited when he was running down the finishing chute, it was like he had just won the Olympics! We had a good week of hanging out at the pool, beach and ripp'in it up at the race car track!

Greg has been doing a lot of commuting this summer between Port Moody and Kamloops; however, that is done. He will officially be a permanent resident of Kamloops in October. All of us together at last!
