Burrard Bridge Bike Lane.......

Day 2 of JKC summer camp: Morgan and Alex went to Science World! Alex had an issue with the Omni Max Movie, he told his teacher he was going to "puke". Three other kids felt the same way, so they hauled them out of the theatre and played in the space centre until the movie was over. Alex can't stop talking about his almost "puking" episode today.
Above, Morgan and Alex looking tired(yeah real tired) after a full day at Science World.
Alex cousin Liam(with the hat) and his friend Justin finishing another day at soccer/tennis camp at UBC. They were looking very excited because they are going to EA(Electronic Arts) for a tour with Bert. They were informed that they will get to go see the production of NHL 10........not sure what that is, but they seem to know!
Rode to St. Paul's Hospital this am for work and got to experience the new bike lane on the Burrard Street Bridge. Only saw a handful of bikers.........but I was commuting at 6:30am: really beat the rush hour.

Until tomorrow, will report about the EA tour and the bike ride on the North Shore with Bert!

Kits Pool this afternoon!

Alex had a great day at JKC(Jericho Kids Club)! He was very impressed that they fed him breakfast, lunch and snacks......it was a taco lunch today! Tomorrow they head over to Science World! Alex loved his new red cap the camp gave him! Oh yeah, he loves the gameboy he got for his belated birthday present from his cousins.
Went for a great swim and water run at Kits Pool this afternoon.......the best part was running into Ms. Janet Anderson. We had a great chat while water running: she needs to be fitted properly on her bike so she can run again. Help Greg!

The pool is 136m long! It made the swimming laps more enjoyable...........the best part, it wasn't that busy. Did some window shopping on my bike on the way home: Greg, I could resist, I had to buy it!

Tomorrow it is off to St. Pauls Hospital to finish my clinical practicum. Might attempt to race the UBC crit too!

Hello Vancouver!

First day in Vancouver and lots to do! The fun started at Grandpa Timewell's property.....the rope swing, riding on the ATV, biking in the awesome trails and good food!
Today, Alex is off to summer camp at JKC in Point Grey area in Vancouver. He was so excited when we dropped them off. A entire new world to explore and enjoy!
Check out the rope swing video!

Hey Dad, we miss you! Wish you were with us! Hope you are having fun in Kamloops!

June almost gone........

What a busy month! From the century ride in Armstrong to birthday parties to field trips and more and more.....

Below: Alex and his Kindergarten mates on the field trip to Paul Lake. The boys did a 2 hour hike from the head of the lake to the public beach.

Alex's 6th birthday party at the famous "Ruckers"!
James and Bob finished the Oliver Half Ironman....they are looking too fresh! Now they have to come back next year and race harder.

Yvonne looking strong on the run at this point.....the last half wasn't good!

The gang ready to do the century ride in Armstrong! What a gorgeous ride with amazing friends!

Alex and Noah camping at Oliver! The little buddies up to no-good!

At the BMX track.......race night!

Check out Alex's first BMX race of the season. He was a little rocket! It was a gorgeous sunny evening at the track and a great turn out. Greg decided not to do any BMX racing this year: his shoulder is finally on the mend. His buddy Frank had a nasty fall: only some skin was lost.

Easter Bunny Post......

Alex and Josephine hangin with the Easter Bunny at the Wildlife Park! The two did an Easter egg hunt.....Rick and I forgot their baskets, so Josephine used her hat and Alex used my camera case. They were perfect......nice a big to load in lots of chocolate egss. While we were at the Wildlife Park, I had to pack around the eggs......so I had to eat a lot of eggs. When ever there is chocolate around.....I eat it!

I had to do a run workout....never made it outside, so I hopped on the good old tready(to stare out the little window downstairs, hoping I would see something to occupy the time). The workout was 7x4min at some sort of hard pace, but not letting my heartrate too high.......my heartrate monitor is not working..........so I had to do the good old fashion count the beats in 15secs and times it by 4 after each interval. So the multiplication I was taught in school has come in handy.Cheers, off for a swim workout with the Masters at the YMCA.....I am late!

Absent from Blogging.......

It is already April! I was thought I just made a post, but that was in February! A lot, actually, too much has been going on at the Timewell Household!

Taboo Cycles has officially opened. This is Kamloops newest cycling shop and it is amazing: I am being a little bias because Greg is part of the team! The new bikes, I am in envy every time I walk in because I am hungry for a new mountain bike.......Cannondale has a couple I have my eye on. But, it is up to the boss to choose the right one for me: why? I don't know a lot about bikes. Hardtail or Full Suspension? Carbon Fiber: of course! It would be nice to have a light mtn. bike to rip up the hills; however, I am still ridiculously slow on the downhill technical portions. I am working on my skills, I have a great group of riders that are very patient with me!

Alex has started Soccer, BMXing, Playing in the Park, riding his bike, making mud in the backyard(we have a lot of dirt), being up to no good with his best buddy Noah! The two of them are inseparable.........what ever they are doing, it involves star wars!!!!! I can not believe he will be 6 years old soon and he is almost done Kindergarten. The French he has picked up this year: they are sponges at this age.

I am very happy to say I am back on with Nike and KINeSYS for the 2009 racing season! Michelle R.(Nike Representative) and family were in Kamloops last week and it was great catching up with them. The kids had a blast on "pitch black" water slide and Alex was so exhausted he fell asleep in the hot tub: this was our cue to pack up and take him home! Also, I am very lucky that KINeSYS kept me as an athlete ambassador for the 2009 racing season: I know a lot of companies had cut backs with the economic times. Thank you for taking me on again. This hot blazing sun in the Interior can do some nasty stuff to your skin and with KINeSYS I am guarded. Also, Alex loves it too, the spray on is perfect and fast to protect the little ones! Last year KINeSYS was generous enough to sponsor Alex's summer daycare: the parents were very impressed with the product. Maybe they might want to help cover a bunch of soccer boys. Taboo Cycles maybe a new sponsor for me; however, we will see if I a new ride comes my way: Hint!

Finally, I am almost done my Clinical Practicum for my Anaesthesiology Assistant Diploma(extension of my Respiratory Therapist degree). The course has taking me 1.5 years to complete while working. I ended up landing a part time position in the Operating Room at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.

Enjoy the pictures and videos below:

February already!

Wow, where do I begin, what a busy month! The Timemachine Family has been very busy this month with work, school, various activities and outings.

Below: Alex and Dad enjoying some ice fishing at Walloper Lake Fishing Derby. It looks like Alex and Dad were working hard at trying to get a catch; however, they ditched the line and headed for the hamburgers and donuts. I was the one who attend to the line the entire time and didn't catch a thing and then was blamed for going home empty handed!

Below: Mom and Alex at Sun Peaks for a day of downhill skiing! Alex loved it and didn't mind the -18 C weather.

Below: Stake Lake Overlander Ski Marathon Weekend! Alex just finishing the 1.5km kids race and receiving the famous "cookie" medal! I also competed in the 30km free race......that was tough but fun. I was 4th overall(just behind Catharine Pendrel...well sort of behind) in my first skate ski race. A lot of people commented on my terrible technique; however, I did beat my coach Keith(sorry, but your wife beat me, so I had to beat someone in your family).
Below: Alex enjoying playing his guitar to Chad Kruger(Nickelback). He is already a little Nickelback groupie and he is 5.

Until next month!

Sun Peaks........

Alex and I went up to Sun Peaks with Wendy, Bree and Ice for the weekend(Greg was in Vancouver playing poker with the boys). Wendy and I were able to get out and skate ski; however, one ski was a little long and we were almost casualties to the cold weather. Nevertheless, we made it to the top of Holy Cow: lots of climbing! Alex absolutely loved downhill skiing! He took to it right away.........we definitely have to take him more this year! Check out the video of him skiing! Back home in Kamloops and ready for his Cross Country Ski lessons tomorrow: he will probably think they are boring compared to downhill skiing!

Flu Bug bites on Halloween....

Alex's Kindergarten Buddies(Bryan, Alex, Alex and Alex...no joke) over for a little play before class starts(they are all in the afternoon class). We decided to decorate haunted gingerbread houses with too much candy and orange and black icing.

Poor Alex getting sick on Halloween; however, the little "Darth" wanted to try and go "trick or treating" with his buddy Noah: he lasted about 30 minutes. We took him inside to rest before the fireworks started(literally in our backyard): this neighbourhood is truly amazing!

Vancouver Weekend......

Made the trip to Vancouver this weekend, since we had a long weekend because of Alex's parent/teacher interviews(teacher was happy with his progress).

We hung out at my sisters house in Vancovuer with his cousins(Morgan and Liam). Then off to crazy packed Science World on Friday(BC wide In service Day, so every kid in the Lower Mainland was at Science World). We had a blast and met up with some friends. Alex and Morgan were inseparable the entire weekend. Morgan could take her new "supergirl" outfit off all weekend.

Alex and Liam at the Vortex station. Alex had to control the speed of the Vortex.

Went along 4th Ave to do some shoe shopping, but couldn't afford the $550 boots I liked. So, we decided to join all the other dogs in Kits for some Doggie Trick or Treating. Trinket was stuffed after the walk. She dressed up as a "punk dog" with her flashing spike collar.
Shopping with the girls on Friday night at Metrotown.....Tasha and I won the contest for buying the most. We were very disappointed that the mall closed at 9pm....

Alex hanging out with Cousin Karla and Cousin Sarah on Sunday. Stopped into have a family Sunday Brunch before we headed back to Kamloops.

First Day of School and House Painnting!

Below: Alex and "Mom" riding to school. Alex thinks it is so cool to ride to school with his backpack on! He has a "perma" grin on his face when he rides 5 blocks to school. He even has his own lock and key for his bike!

Below: Alex posing in front of his School "Ecole Lloyd George". Yesterday he was so excited about it being Monday today, so he could go to school. He loves learning French!
Below: Alex and his Kindergarten teacher Mme Viaud! She is a super teacher!

Below: Alex's new blue room! It turned out perfect! I can't wait to start moving in; however, my painting is going very slow. I am starting the main bathroom today, should be fun!

Below: The kitchen is done! I love it! The color and the tiles, it looks great! I just have to put some blinds up, so the neighbours don't get too freaked out when seeing me in the morning! Need some privacy!

I will show before and after pictures of the bathroom when done. I just got some decorating/painting advice from a woman. So I am attempting to try some risky decorating/painting with our bathroom......I hope it looks good. It may take a couple of days but I am giving it a try! Wish me luck!
Off for my run with the boys. I hope we don't run into any bears......yesterday I came face to face with Mumma Bear! Her "3" cubs were right behind her! That was a fast km I ran: my Nike Sports Band clocked a fast one!

Painting and Playing....

We have been very busy cleaning and painting our new house. We haven't moved in yet; however, Alex wishes we could move in ASAP! He is loves how the neighbourhood is saturated with kids(lots of boys). The kids are always outside: riding their bikes or scooters, playing in the park(that is literally our backyard), playing in the enormous sandpit, swinging and much more! It is a kid friendly neighbourhood with great families! I think we will love our new pad!

Alex and Dad cleaning outside of the garage(this is the back of the house/garage backing onto the lane).
Then right across the lane is this gorgeous park that Alex and his new friends rip around in from morning til dinner! Today was a warm sunny day and he was outside the entire day! Time for bed. I am also wore out(a little "loopy" from painting). I will show some pictures of Alex's room and the kitchen tomorrow(when they will be complete). Goodnight!

The Little Red House!

We are the proud owners of this cute little red house on Pine Crescent! We are currently cleaning, painting and gutting out the garage(more space for our 10 million bikes). Alex is having a blast with all the "kid" neighbours! Yesterday, he spent most of the day at the park(our backyard is backing onto a park), riding his bike, scooting around on his scooter and playing at other kids houses! He was exhausted last night!Greg and I have been keeping busy with running and biking and chasing Alex! The last 2 weekend I have ran some trail races in Kamloops: we are very fortunate to have such amazing trails. Below is a picture of Greg Johnson(winner), Sherry(president of our running club) and me(female winner).

We will try and update with some before and after pictures of our reno's for the new house. Off to take Alex to swimming lessons(Crocodile).

Gone Fishing!

The boys took off fishing to Paul Lake today! Grandpa was in town, so they decided to take the canoe out for a paddle and Alex had to take his fishing rod. I was the one digging up worms(in our very dry garden); however, I was successful in finding a couple. The only thing that Alex caught was a tadpole(thankfully, Dad remembered to set him free).

Overdue Blogging......just like the library books!

A long time since an update! Well, I will try and give a quick update on what has been going on with The Timewell's!

Alex and Greg(Dad) have been BMXing every Thursday night(racing night): Alex has made huge improvements. He went from finishing every motto last to consistently finishing 2nd(he doesn't even care what place he comes in, along as he can play and talk during the break). Our kid is too social: he can talk about anything and nothing!

In June Alex graduated from preschool! Yes, they have graduation in preschool! The kids had a blast! Teachers: Ms. Tracy and Ms. Wilemina had all the kids make their caps and gave them each their laminated certificate and very own medal. Alex wore his medal everywhere for about a week and told everyone it was for "graduating"!
In July we headed to Osoyoos for Steph and Dave's wedding and The Canadian Long Course Championships. What a fun but tiring weekend!!!! The night before we left: Alex was up all night with the flu(never new he could hold that much in his stomach). I left for work the next day at 6:30am with no sleep and very concerned I was going to catch what Alex had! After work we headed to Osoyoos! We arrived Friday evening and Alex managed to make friends that night at the hotel(The Lakeside Resort: fabulous hotel). The next day I woke up and put all my race gear together and headed off for a 1 hour bike ride and attempted to ride up Ritcher to test the legs. Wow, I felt good! After some breakfast, Greg headed out for his road ride and Alex and I headed to the park, so I could do some running pick ups. Alex did some serious swinging(he can finally pump and go somewhere) for at least 30minutes and I did my running pickups on the grass. Again: I felt great! With the lack of sleep I had been having I was feeling strong and fast! Off to pick up my race package and a quick visit with some friends I haven't seen in awhile. Then back to the hotel where Alex hung out at the pool with his new friends(Nikki and Jaymie from North Vancouver).
Off to the wedding in OK Falls at See Ya Later Ranch(Winery). I could not believe how beautiful it was up on the bench of the hill tucked away. I have ridden that rode; however, it was so steep, narrow and twisty that I could only stare head and not dare look at the views! Stephanie looked amazing and Dave was looking very dashing! It was good to catch up with Barb, Kevin(Danielle), Olly and Alex: most of us were racing the next day! At around 11:30 we managed to head back to the hotel. In bed by 1am and up at 5am for the race. I could not get up!

Onto the race: Had these big dark circles around my eyes when riding over to transition(oh yeah, I forgot to check my bike in the day before.......I felt bad and Sarah was not impressed.....sorry). It was great lining up at the swim start with Ann and Charlene my old training buddies from Port Moody: they eased my nerves as we goofed around. We were off and I felt great. I was actually leading the swim for about 3oometers, then I started slowing down or everyone started speeding up? Finished the swim in 31mins and change: happy and felt more awake! Excited about the bike portion, I have been putting a lot of time into my bike and riding well! In Kamloops I ride with my husband who is a rocket and a bunch of roadies who have brought my cycling up a notch. Well, started climbing Richter and legs didn't want to go. The entire 90km I had to stay positive: I was fight to keep a solid pace. I just kept plugging along. Also, I had no idea what place I was in? I was told I was 14th, 3rd and 5th??? Rode into T2 and started the run in 7th position. I was worried about the run because of the of the lack of running I have been doing(only water running for the last 6 weeks because of a foot injury). Well, I felt great and started passing the women ahead of me. I ran into 4th position and the 1st BC women overall! This race was also The BC Provincial Long COurse Champs: so I took the title. Also, the top 5 women received money and a free race entry for next year. If you have every done one of Joe and Sarah's races: you would be back for more! It was a hot and sunny day: so a big "Thanks" to Kinesys SunScreen for protecting me while racing for 5 hours!!! And my Nike Marathoners were so "sweet"(Alex's new word). Greg, thanks for my fast zippy bike....too bad the legs didn't do justice to my Cervelo Dual(with it's unique paint job).

Below: Jaymie, Nikki and ALex in Osoyoos!

THe middle of July we headed up to Sun Peaks(1 hour from Kamloops) for a 5 peaks trail race! Steep, Steep and very Steep! Alex raced in the 1km kids trail race and had a blast......the kids even got a steep hill too! We rode the Sunburst chairlift to the start of the race and ran 14.5km of very hilly terrain! What fun! Then we headed down to the village for some chocolate and awards. I won the race for the females and Greg Johnson ran to first for the males!
Below: Me trying to run up the steep hill: ended up walking!

Below: Alex just climbing around!

Also, we soon get possession of our new house....August 15th! We are moving downtown...close to Alex's new school and the hospital(Yvonne's work).
Signing off until the next blog!

Birthday Boy is 5 Today!!!!

How many birthday party's can a five year old have? Well, Alex has celebrated his 5th birthday 4 times already and the 5th party is tomorrow(with all his buddies at Ruckers).

Below: A family birthday gathering and we all enjoyed the R2D2 cake. Can you tell Alex loves star wars stuff.
Below: Uncle Bert and Aunt Michaela were in Kamloops a couple of weeks ago and threw a little surprise party for Alex(he loved the star wars transformer and the silly string).
Below: Alex had a birthday party at his daycare and preschool. He went to the Fire Station and had a lot of fun with the water "hose"........
Today we were suppose to go BMXing(racing on Thursday nights); however, it was raining so no racing. Next week!

This Monday Alex had Kindergarten orientation at Lloyd George School. He met his new teacher, Madame Vouix and a new friend Will. He can't wait until September.

Oh yeah, we are moving! We bought a house downtown: close to the school, close to work(hospital) and we even have a park in our backyard. We move in August.

Hope everyone is keeping dry!
Cheers,
The Timewell's
