Burrard Bridge Bike Lane.......
Day 2 of JKC summer camp: Morgan and Alex went to Science World! Alex had an issue with the Omni Max Movie, he told his teacher he was going to "puke". Three other kids felt the same way, so they hauled them out of the theatre and played in the space centre until the movie was over. Alex can't stop talking about his almost "puking" episode today.
Above, Morgan and Alex looking tired(yeah real tired) after a full day at Science World.
Alex cousin Liam(with the hat) and his friend Justin finishing another day at soccer/tennis camp at UBC. They were looking very excited because they are going to EA(Electronic Arts) for a tour with Bert. They were informed that they will get to go see the production of NHL 10........not sure what that is, but they seem to know!
Rode to St. Paul's Hospital this am for work and got to experience the new bike lane on the Burrard Street Bridge. Only saw a handful of bikers.........but I was commuting at 6:30am: really beat the rush hour.
Until tomorrow, will report about the EA tour and the bike ride on the North Shore with Bert!

Kits Pool this afternoon!
Alex had a great day at JKC(Jericho Kids Club)! He was very impressed that they fed him breakfast, lunch and snacks......it was a taco lunch today! Tomorrow they head over to Science World! Alex loved his new red cap the camp gave him! Oh yeah, he loves the gameboy he got for his belated birthday present from his cousins.
Went for a great swim and water run at Kits Pool this afternoon.......the best part was running into Ms. Janet Anderson. We had a great chat while water running: she needs to be fitted properly on her bike so she can run again. Help Greg!
The pool is 136m long! It made the swimming laps more enjoyable...........the best part, it wasn't that busy. Did some window shopping on my bike on the way home: Greg, I could resist, I had to buy it!
Tomorrow it is off to St. Pauls Hospital to finish my clinical practicum. Might attempt to race the UBC crit too!

June almost gone........
What a busy month! From the century ride in Armstrong to birthday parties to field trips and more and more.....
Below: Alex and his Kindergarten mates on the field trip to Paul Lake. The boys did a 2 hour hike from the head of the lake to the public beach.
Alex's 6th birthday party at the famous "Ruckers"!

At the BMX track.......race night!
Check out Alex's first BMX race of the season. He was a little rocket! It was a gorgeous sunny evening at the track and a great turn out. Greg decided not to do any BMX racing this year: his shoulder is finally on the mend. His buddy Frank had a nasty fall: only some skin was lost.

Easter Bunny Post......
Alex and Josephine hangin with the Easter Bunny at the Wildlife Park! The two did an Easter egg hunt.....Rick and I forgot their baskets, so Josephine used her hat and Alex used my camera case. They were perfect......nice a big to load in lots of chocolate egss. While we were at the Wildlife Park, I had to pack around the eggs......so I had to eat a lot of eggs. When ever there is chocolate around.....I eat it!
I had to do a run workout....never made it outside, so I hopped on the good old tready(to stare out the little window downstairs, hoping I would see something to occupy the time). The workout was 7x4min at some sort of hard pace, but not letting my heartrate too high.......my heartrate monitor is not working..........so I had to do the good old fashion count the beats in 15secs and times it by 4 after each interval. So the multiplication I was taught in school has come in handy.Cheers, off for a swim workout with the Masters at the YMCA.....I am late!

Absent from Blogging.......
It is already April! I was thought I just made a post, but that was in February! A lot, actually, too much has been going on at the Timewell Household!
Taboo Cycles has officially opened. This is Kamloops newest cycling shop and it is amazing: I am being a little bias because Greg is part of the team! The new bikes, I am in envy every time I walk in because I am hungry for a new mountain bike.......Cannondale has a couple I have my eye on. But, it is up to the boss to choose the right one for me: why? I don't know a lot about bikes. Hardtail or Full Suspension? Carbon Fiber: of course! It would be nice to have a light mtn. bike to rip up the hills; however, I am still ridiculously slow on the downhill technical portions. I am working on my skills, I have a great group of riders that are very patient with me!
Alex has started Soccer, BMXing, Playing in the Park, riding his bike, making mud in the backyard(we have a lot of dirt), being up to no good with his best buddy Noah! The two of them are inseparable.........what ever they are doing, it involves star wars!!!!! I can not believe he will be 6 years old soon and he is almost done Kindergarten. The French he has picked up this year: they are sponges at this age.
I am very happy to say I am back on with Nike and KINeSYS for the 2009 racing season! Michelle R.(Nike Representative) and family were in Kamloops last week and it was great catching up with them. The kids had a blast on "pitch black" water slide and Alex was so exhausted he fell asleep in the hot tub: this was our cue to pack up and take him home! Also, I am very lucky that KINeSYS kept me as an athlete ambassador for the 2009 racing season: I know a lot of companies had cut backs with the economic times. Thank you for taking me on again. This hot blazing sun in the Interior can do some nasty stuff to your skin and with KINeSYS I am guarded. Also, Alex loves it too, the spray on is perfect and fast to protect the little ones! Last year KINeSYS was generous enough to sponsor Alex's summer daycare: the parents were very impressed with the product. Maybe they might want to help cover a bunch of soccer boys. Taboo Cycles maybe a new sponsor for me; however, we will see if I a new ride comes my way: Hint!
Finally, I am almost done my Clinical Practicum for my Anaesthesiology Assistant Diploma(extension of my Respiratory Therapist degree). The course has taking me 1.5 years to complete while working. I ended up landing a part time position in the Operating Room at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.
